Men 1st vs Caradon 1

On Saturday a depleted North Devon side hosted the league leaders Caradon. From the start Caradon was on the attack, trying to find their strikers. However, with solid defence and good communication North Devon kept them at bay. Caradon forced many penalty corners, where the forced a penalty stroke, to score from. North Devon moved the ball well, however with turnover Caradon scored again to make it 2-0 at half time.

North Devon worked hard in the 2nd half but the Caradon forwards found space and with quick movement they scored another 2. However, North Devon dominated the next 10 - 15 minutes and with slick passing on the right Joe Taylor Richards found space and with good movement in the D he scored. Soon after, with good passing and movement Ash Thorne scored from a ball coming accross the D. North Devon then converted a penalty corner with slip pass to the right and back to Giles Rowden to make it 4-3.

However, Caradon calmed down after a card was given. They then utilised their airels to their nippy forwards, that had the North Devon defence to turn back. They then scored another 3 goals, to hive them a 7-3 win. North Devon has fought hard in this match with good defence pressure but unfortunately ran out of steam.
